Darn that masturbating naked man! That's why show was cut short. But the boys really gave us all a real good time the next day!

Start of Cold Rain Tells it All
You can just feel in the start of the first 15 seconds of the CRaS that all the boys are fuego'd up. Great sound quality too.

Threat of rain all day...and prior to Cold Rain and Snow wind really starts blowing. As first set proceeds, winds start to calm and music takes off. Jerry
...
and Bob on "fire" whole first set!!! Race is On, They Love Each Other and Hightime are a sign post of what's yet to come. Halftime has a flash of sunshine pierce the clouds for about 30 seconds. SPOOKY!!! Then the second set...Scarlet>Fire is just the start of the one-upsmanship which what made this Dead show amazing...Comes a Time>Sugar Magnolia just mind-blowing...watching Steve Parish bring out a microphone to put in front of Jerry's failing guitar during Sugar Magnolia was as amazing as watching the sun setting during Sunshine Daydream. This show did not need a encore...none of us would have got out alive. From 1985-1986 this show is in the top ten...hint...listen to 09/15/1985 to compare. Happy 50th boys...miss ya Jerry!!! MJS

Cal Expo--the new tent city
I didn't see anyone masturbate at that show but my mind was blown as well. Had only been in California for 6 months and was in love with Cal Expo from

get-go. The vibe was always cool inside with no problem getting up front. The parking lot had camping for a few years and Bill Graham would patrol it making sure children weren't selling beer--apparently he didn't like that. Anyone remember BGP hosting games when you walked in where you could win concert tickets?

Wishin I was there...
Wow if there is one show I'd love to go back in time to be at it's this one. From the get go Jerry is lovin every minute of "Cold Rain" then the band dives
...
into a sweet "Race is On" The entire first set is great..."High Time" being a definate highlight. "CC Rider" is upbeat and the band is obviously having a great time with that one. Bobby is high in the mix and he's just strummin along. Phil is just Phil...droppin the bombs...I love that :) Set 2 is killer...the "Goin Down the Road" before Drums is a real treat. "The Other One" is filled with great energy with a sweet "Comes a Time" and a rockin "Sugar Mags" to close it out....the announcement about the lack of an encore is priceless. Download this one...it will bring smiles all around. Thanks to all who are responsible for all this kind music. The Grateful Dead...just a good old American Band!

Other." High Time Race is on etc. The Band was really enjoying themselves this weekend. They were in very playful spirits and I remember Garcia smiling a lot and gesturing to the audience. The sound was huge, and there was lots of room to dance right up by the stage. It was a very high time.

GD shows! Super sound quality and a bubbling performance nothing really that out of the ordinary, definetly dosed up. After SSDD Bobby mumbles something unaudible then Phil explains that JG & BW's guitars are broken and that his (Phils) mind is blown so no encore tonight! Pretty sweet for the nastalgia of the Dead alone. Thanks again!
